21mm Straps?

Anyone know of makers out there who stock plenty of these - at normal lengths?

Reason I ask is, I have my eye on a Grand Seiko with that pesky 21mm lug width. I may go custom and have a strap made. I have a 16mm Grand Seiko buckle...do folks think that 21 to 16mm taper would look funky??

I wish Seiko could get their bracelets / straps right...someday.

Hello, sir!

  • 21mm lug width to 16mm clasp is perfectly good and natural and righteous.  I have a number of straps for GS with precisely that taper.  It's super comfortable
  • May I suggest the following?  @Jericho is a fellow forum member and has made me a custom strap that is my favorite, for my SBGE257.  I've followed up with an order for 3 more for my SBGJ237, SLGA007, and SBGJ255
  • Alternately, I've heard great things about Delugs, and they've got lots of straps that taper from 21mm to 16mm
  • Finally, if you want to go super high end, and super expensive, there's Genteel Handmade

Good luck, sir!

Thank you for the comment / referral!

I have an old Omega gator / deployant for my Speedy Pro which is a 20>16 taper. I think Omega switched to 20>18 now...

Thanks for the GS confirmation. I have some Vintage GS and King Seiko at 18 and 19mm widths respectively. I wear them on after-market straps as well.

I have used Aaron at combat-straps.com in Canada when I had a Panerai. He does great work as well.

Definitely recommend Rios 1931 classics styles and available from 14 to 24 in every odd lug width for most of them. Quality is always great for a decent price.
