Orignial GMT Master II Ceramic case size Vs latest Ceramic GMTs

I should know this.. Is the "maxi-case" for the all black GMTIIC the very same size as the latest/greatest Pepsi/Batman case size?

21mm Straps?

Anyone know of makers out there who stock plenty of these - at normal lengths? Reason I ask is, I have my eye on a Grand Seiko with that pesky 21mm lu...

Wow. Nearly $10,000 USD? I’ll keep my Winter. 😉

Lovely dial as always. My Winter is jealous of that closed seconds hand. I will also give props for taking the gold Lion logo off the caseback and giving it the opaque / transparent treatment.

Final quibble…I must say, I am not a fan of that gold GS logo on the clasp. Is it real gold? 14 k?

David SW - Yes he charges a premium. Always did, even before the nutty prices post COVID / Instagram.

Crown & Caliber - biggest complaint is very few watches with original box / papers...and their photos / magnifying tool against a white background are not great. I prefer more realistic photos ala David SW. However, service was good / responsive.

Jomashop may not have the watch advertised...and will try to source it after you express interest.

Tropical Watch and HQ Milton are also both very reliable - mainly for Vintage.

I realize I’m not Pete…

Watch box will draw Jack fans and make new ones who dig his content. This will give a reason for more return visits to the site - even when you’re not looking to buy a watch right away. So, getting old/new visitors to return more frequently and linger longer = more sales opportunities.

Sort of related question... The Hodinkee masthead used to list a number of staff. Now, the number of folks / photos there has been greatly reduced. Did they lose a bunch of people, or did they change the criteria of who gets their picture on the site?

Who is the true Dark Side?

Do you mean mine - or his? 🤔

I'm struggling as well... But as mentioned above, I think the strategy will be to pull over Forster-fans to read / view his content, stay on the site longer, and (eventually) buy a watch or 7.  I have never purchased from Watchbox, nor other Greys since Instagram / COVID helped drive prices skyward, but maybe when things (hopefully) come down to earth, I will again.

Hodinkee was very helpful to me when I was first learning about mechanical watches circa 2009/2010. I don't want to hate on them too much. I don't care so much for the increasingly in-your-face / shop this story approach, but they are trying to be a business and please investors. I hope Watchbox can balance great Forster content with their main reason for existing - to sell watches. We shall see...
