The OP was the OG

I don’t regret selling any watch because it’s all been part of the journey, but if I did, it would be this 116000 I bought while stuck in Florence during lockdown. I bought it from the AD on the Ponte Vecchio, and it made a pretty good argument for a one watch collection. I traded in an Explorer 114270 for it because I wanted something even more true to what was actually worn on the Everest summit by Hillary. This one got the closest with the hints of sportyness, but still on the white dial. Also the white dial was stunning up close. The maxi case on the 36mm size gave it just enough presence on my wrist, and when combined with the curves of the case, it almost called back to the old Rolex cushion cases. My only complaint was from afar the indices started to look a little stubby when compared to the maxi style case.

Love the watch. The white dial looks great. Is the Ponte Vecchio where Panerai had it's origins? I typically do not care for a 36mm, but it looks good on your wrist.

I love the 36mm OP. The silver dial that I have is such a beautifully simple, understated, watch whose design will always be popular. I have a blue dial also but I'll pick up the silver dial over it every day of the week.

You should get yourself another one, it's beautiful in white also.

By Everest Summit you mean the Smiths watch he wore 😂.

The older generation OPs in 36mm were the best version IMHO. The maxi stubby case had a much nicer silhouette than the current ones.

Love the modern deminsions of the 36 OP. The 20mm lugs really makes it wearable on larger wrists.

Funny enough, the deminsions are (almost) exactly the same as the CW c63 36mm sealanders. I’m sure by no accident.

Not sure that OP looks like the Smiths. Needs a small seconds hand. Then maybe. 🤔

Something about a white OP 😍

Yes Panerai’s original store is right down the street from there next to the Duomo. The explorer that I traded in for this piece I felt was a little too small, but the case shape on this OP worked really well for me

The watch looks better on bracelet than on the strap. Something odd about the lugs isnt it?
