Life expectancy of Seiko solar watches
Planning to pick up a Seiko speedtimer. But on the fence about their life expectancy
Can I make it last 15 years more or less?

I would count on ten year, which also matches my experience with a Seiko Kinetic.
That being said: Changing the battery shouldn't be too hard. It believe the battery of a V175 is a straight-forward swap without any additional tasks. (Other than checking the gasket, of course.)
