The Good 🔥 the Bad 🥴and the Ugly💩

I couldn’t care less for the latest over hyped and mainstream Rolex and Tudor releases.

These are the 3 recent releases that I care about and unfortunately I find that only 1 is good.

The Good 🔥: Doxa released the 200T a smaller version of the sub 300T at a really competitive price. I still need to try one on but I think this might be the time I actually pull the trigger for a Doxa. I always found the 300t really charming but a bit too thick and big for me.

The Bad 🥴: Squale realeased a new Master with a bracelet in titanium. They market it as being the first ever Squale in titanium but I am pretty sure the subcombin master was already in titanium…

what is bad about it? IMO the Squale recent masters (Marina militare, comsubin…) have the best dials I have seen on a Squale. My dream is to have a 1521 case with that sandwich dial and over sized hand and indices. In this new one they have applied indexes on a sandwich dial that make the lume really hard to charge. So a useless gimmick that doesn’t even look good 🤬. Also let’s not even start talking about that butterfly clasp on the bracelet.

The ugly 💩: I proudly own a Vulcain nautique in black and I was really looking forward to see the new bracelet. after almost 1 year they finally released it… and wtf is that 🤦🏼‍♂️. A prx style with huge flat links and an end link that looks like the Tudor P01. A 1980 style bracelet on a 1960s skin diver. I dunno what illicit substances they are using at Vulcain but they must be pretty strong. Can’t believe it took them 1 year to produce such a piece of 💩.

Doxa is 🔥🔥🔥

Squale is a non entity for me. I could not care if they release anything in the future since none of their previous models managed to stir my interests and chances are that they will continue to push their bland designs with the sliced salami logo.

Doxa OTOH is an interesting brand with interesting to look at models.

I must profess as a fan of Squale, this Master really is quite underwhelming; indeed, what is the point of a butterfly clasp on a diver's watch?

That said, I must admit that not all of their designs in the past have sat well with me. I for one, believe that the sandwich dial could have been better served if the indices were of the "maxi" variety.

Kinda like the dial on the Squale. But those bracelet end links are a horrible fit...
