In NZ, is it okay to wear a watch?

Hi, fellow WC in New Zealand. I intend to relocate to Auckland either in the middle or at the end of the year. I'd like to know if wearing a watch while walking around is safe. I can go outside and walk with my Tudor right now because I'm in Singapore. I'd want to know what you think.

I lived there 7 years ago or so it was amazing never felt unsafe but I am from the north east of England which is a pretty rough haha I can remember my cousin friend’s kids saying I will show you the ghetto of bays water as well where walking through it I ask them when are we going to get there as it wasn’t rough at all no boarded up windows or anything like that haha Auckland city is a great night out as well had a great night on the piss with a load of NZ Navy guys and great time in a “black” club was the only white face in there what was a experience but never felt unsafe

Hey mate Aucklander here, I have never had any issues walking around while wearing a watch. Mind you I don’t have anything very valuable or blingy, but I have never noticed a second glance from anyone at my Speedmaster, or Nomos. I think we often forget that the average person does not care about watches. By the same token I would be discreet depending on where you go, and may want to tuck the Tudor under a sleeve or leave it at home. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Absolutely safe as houses.

Kiwis are very laid back & friendly.

Be careful! The cows will mug you!

Just kidding. I did hear a joke a few years back that there are more cows than people in New Zealand. Sorry if that is inaccurate. 😅

No!!!! It's NOT okay!! Wear a watch anyway, in spite of, or even because it's not okay! Wear a watch on your arm everywhere! Wear a watch on both arms! Wear two watches on each arm! Give watches as gifts to family and friends. Give your dog a watch. Give one to your cat. Give (at least) 200M water resistant divers (with sapphire) to your guppies and goldfish. Our time on Earth is running out, and if everybody wore a killer watch every day, they would already know this!
