My very first non-fashion watch

Growing up, the few times I got watches were from mall stands that were of the fashion variety.

This is the first watch I fell in love with and couldn't say no to the affordability. The Bambino.

I obviously ditched the supplied strap for a pebbled leather strap. The contrasting date window is both easy to read, but an immediate eyesore (imo).

I still own it and have been interested in other Orients. An open heart one with small seconds is a looker and hopefully I can get one.

This pic was shortly after I changed the straps once it arrived.

Orient? Good taste my good friend.

Thank you! I'm still very happy with the watch, even after five years of owning it.

·

Orient are nice watches one of the few Japanese's made brands I like

·

You can't go wrong with an Orient. Lots of interesting and the odd bizarre model!

Hopefully the new strap has a little more room!

Very nice, but I believe that this constitutes a fashion watch, as do most if not all watches. Ultimately, your choice of watch is a statement of personal values expressed in both form and function, and it’s hard to see how anyone can completely extricate that choice from fashion sensibilities.

This isn’t a dig at you or anything, btw! Just an observation about how and why we adorn ourselves.

Cracking choice!

Congratulations, you can't go wrong with Orient - a very solid choice! 👍

Speaking of open heart Orients, mine doesn't come with a small second but I still think it looks beautiful. It's called the Orient Envoy. If you don't like roman numerals, there's also an Envoy 2 available with standard (arabic) numerals!

It does. It is such a comfortable strap. Its the Dasari pebbled leather strap.

None taken. It was definitely a weird word choice I used.

In my use, it was aimed at the likes of DW, Fossil, Invicta, etc.

For the actual use of it, I have used this piece a bunch in regards to dressing up and down.

Can't go wrong with a Bambino. Like Billie-Dee Williams says about Colt-45 Malt Liquor, "It Works Every Time!"

Excellent choice. Oh, how I wish I could recoup the money wasted on fashion watches.
