Traveling with my largest and smallest watches

I'm driving 8 hours to Kentucky for the Derby, a couple of days on the Bourbon Trail, and a couple of days on the Red River Gorge. For travel and adventure, I'll be wearing the G-Shock MTG-M900, which is the largest watch I have at 46mm (currently on a black resin strap from the GW-M500), and for going out, I'll have the MK 1 Mechanical, which is the smallest watch I have with a 36mm diameter.

All I really need is the G-Shock, but I'm bringing the Timex for fun 😊.

Love it. I have the same G shock. It's the largest watch I j have too but also one of the lightest. What brands are you visiting? Four Roses and Angels Envy have great tours.

The MTG-M900 is much lighter on resin (67 grams?) than on the metal bracelet (~130 grams?), and the MK1 is super light (~40 grams?).

As far as distillery tours, we looked into those distilleries, as well as Wild Turkey (currently closed for remodeling), Woodford Reserve (tours booked), etc.... all booked (stupid Derby!). We'll be staying in Lexington and visiting Lexington Distilling (and Brewery) and James E. Pepper, where we we able to book tours for the group I'm travelling with. Four Roses apparently has two tours... a distillery tour in Lawrenceburg (booked) and a rickhouse/bottling tour (available) in another location (Cox's Creek)... but it's just too much travelling for us after an 8 hour drive and the need to head in the other direction to go to Red River Gorge.

I have the same G-Shock and would love to try it on resin. Was it an easy swap and are the straps easy to find?

I wasn't a fan of the tan resin piece that connects the stainless bracelet to the head of the watch. The swap isn't difficult, but requires using two small screwdrivers at the same time in order to undo the bars holding the bracelet on. The resin band is easy to find since it is used on a few of the solar/atomic models that have been around for years - the GWM500 and the GWM530 - mine was $12 on ebay.

Excellent! I will give it a go. Thanks Chris.
