Curiosity turned to obsession
Who would think wearing a digital Casio watch can bring you so much fun and enjoyment. Since I started collecting watches, I always overlooked Casio mainly because they are digital watches and almost all their watches are made out of resin. Never in my wildest imagination that I would ever purchase a Casio.
It all started with a Casio Illuminator ref: AE1200WDH-1A “the Casio Royals” 😂.
I pulled a trigger to give Casio a chance even if I don’t really like it from the get go, it is nothing much to loose since it cost me just over $20.
When I received it, I was slightly disappointed, because the feel and quality were not even come close to the image and my expectation.
I Reminded my self that this watch only cost me $20, so don’t expect too much.
I started to give Casio “Casio Royals” a wrist time and figured out why so many people fall in love with this watch brand. After a few weeks time, I started to understand why. Casio was build to be a functional tool watch that to be worn freely, carefree, and worry free.
I am glad that I kept the watch on my wrist longer time than I thought I would. And as a result of that I actually grew to like it and appreciated it.
That led me to look at different watches in the Casio line up. This is where I stumbled upon Casio A1000. I love the simplicity of its look, the vintage vibe it gave and the metal construction, but it had a higher price tag of $120. 🤔🤔 I am wondered if it will be worth it, but I decided to get it anyway considering the first expirience that I had with AE1200WDH. Without a doubt, it blew my mind and totally exceeded my expectation even though it had less functionality compared to the “Casio Royals”. I not only love it so much but also decided to get a different style of the same model and she loved it as well. The A1000 is thin, light and build well. The A1000 can be wear in any situation from formal to casual. It just literally disappear in your wrist.
It didn’t just stop there, it caught my sister eye and she wanted one for herself.
Now we had 3 different variants of the same Casio Model in our family.
What is next for us, may be G-Shock? 😁

I have three of them, two were given to me by my father (the bands broke, he just buys new watches at that price) and one I purchased to replace a Timex digital. They're all great watches. Having three digital watches already, there's no point in getting more - for me. I can understand collecting them, however.

Probably my favorite watch band, I got spoiled by them because for years and years I'd just get a 20 buck casio when mine would break. What more could I ask for!
