Scrapes and dents - A discussion

I don't baby my watches, but do like to take care of them. Even if it's something like this, which is good enough to raid a village and come out unscathed, my Gshocks getting scuffed bother me.

With something nicer, I'll always turn my watch face inward while walking past someone on the opposite side out of fear of nudging something and getting it scratched.

What are your thoughts? Are you the strap it on and forget about it or are mindful when you wear something, nice or otherwise.

Honestly I’m never mindful when I weare watches to the effect of always worrying about it. But I don’t mind scratches on my watches at all no matter how affordable or expensive the watch it. That being said. If I’m going to play tackle football 🏈 im not going to bring my moonswatch with me to play ya know what I mean?

There are probably one or two gshocks i have to bash. Those probably have the least amount of wear and tear on them other than the print fading. I use them for swimming or bike rides mostly

I m very careful wearing my watches. Nevertheless i get mange 'em to get scratched unsucsessfully. Well, what can one do

Some friends ask me "what's the resale value of that watch?" I always have to answer with "Something well cared for" and "this one probably won't fetch that" I wear my watches, I am clumsy wearing watches, they get scratches and dings. Only the 1st. ones hurt. 😐

I also don't buy watches with the idea of selling them.

Wear 'em and don't worry about it, life's too short. Snapped the crown off my Seamaster on my first date a few years ago - wasn't cheap, but came back like new, so I don't worry about damage (tho obviously don't wear my posh stuff for rough jobs)

Nope. 😉😅🤌🏻

If a g shock doesn't have any scuffs or knocks its not a real g shock 👍👍

To be honest, I never really feel like my wrist hits things by accident. I don't mind scratches, but I also have very few of them. If I'm about to get my wrist jammed somewhere, like between an appliance I'm moving and a wall, I might consider that and find a different way to grab things or take my watch off for a sec to make my wrist skinnier. I don't really feel like I'm aware of the watch so much as I am aware of my arm, because I don't go dragging my other wrist across things or bang it into stuff either.
