Seiko 7s26 0070 skx129
So I decided to sell a few of my watches for a big purchase (bel canto). In the meantime, I have been wearing some of my cheaper watches to help me separate from the more expensive ones I want to sell. I put this old watch on not thinking I would be happy but the joy it’s bringing me is, well, strange. I shouldn’t be enjoying this watch as much as my Nomos or Omega pie pan but here we are. Loving the dial and the size. I even like the unique 70s/80s bracelet. When the dial catches the light, the watch opens up like a $75 dollar Spanish wine. This one is staying in my collection.

I'm a sucker for older seikos, especially seiko 5s. That's such a beaut! My watch literally, still with me 23 years later is a Seiko 5.
I think that's a hiccup we'll all face, when you have nicer watches, we tend to overlook some of the cheaper ones, I'm really glad you've rekindled the flame with this one.
It’s almost magical sometimes how things okay out like that. It truly isn’t a numbers game when it comes to enjoy a watch. You never know how good a well made affordable watch will make you feel.

Thanks Deanseiko876. Wise words for sure. I’m happy to see another vintage seiko 5 fan. The only problem with reconnecting with this watch is that I am going down an auction rabbit hole with other vintage seiko 5’s and I’m afraid I’m going to eat into my budget for my bigger goal.

Nice Seiko 5! Inexpensive Seikos are some of my favorites to actually wear. Congratulations on the Bel Canto order too. I’d like to add one of those someday myself.

Thank you, gbelleh. I’m very excited about the Bel Canto. It will not be ready till April of 2024 but I don’t mind the wait and it gives me time to sort out my collection and rekindle some old loves.
