ROVER FIELD WATCH BLACK

Fellow Crunchers, anyone have one of these and want to share some real world feed-back on it?  I am thinking this may be my next purchase and it does not seem to be more than just commercial reviews.  Thank you!

As a SW200-1 its going to last a long time. Just don't overwind it. All the 2824 movements and variations suffer from soft gear teeth. Wind it 5 or 6 times and let the automatic work. Other than that its an Explorer homage. That's the kind of watch I want to build next from parts.

Brian, if you're a buildin' . . . give me a shout. Not kidding!

seems like a great watch, not a fan of the logo and watch name on the dial. its too big for my taste

Thanks for the advice on the winding Brian.  I did end up getting it and really love it.  Conforms to my wrist so the weight and size have not been a problem.  If you are going to build something similar, give me a shout.

Brian, did you ever end up building one like this? Curious to see how it turned out. Thanks!

I have not yet built one as the movement is north of $200.00 and I got a 2824 Certina DS4 for $250.00 and 2 Tissot Powermatic 80's for $170.00. I have been converting cheap Chinese watches to Swiss Ronda 505's and made a VK63 chrono. The Swiss use the Chinese 2824's but service them properly where they don't bother for direct Chinese sales.

Ahh, thanks. That does sound like a lot of fun! I can get my modding itch scratched vicariously with great Crunchers like yourself! Post your work or results when you can!
