A little modding to my Seiko

It’s almost six months now, bought my first Seiko brand new last summer. Honestly, I don’t know why I did not get one earlier. They are great watches, as we all know. I’ve been collecting for years and always looked for the perfect watch for me. It does not seem to exist after I tried(owned) about 75 different watches but this comes closest, just has it all and it’s budget friendly on top. Winner!

Anyways. So one of my gripes was always the chonkyness of this watch. I love when watches are nice and thin so this had to change on the otherwise amazing SRPD57. On the bracelet it was fine but once I used the NATO it was too thick.

I mean - look and how thick it is and it sits high on your wrist.

I had a look online and found a slim caseback on namoki - immediately ordered it. Arrived in just about a week and it really does make a difference! This makes me love my Seiko even more!

It easily shaves off almost a millimeter of thickness!
also: the NATO was sadly a little tight in one hole and way too loose on the next one. Now I can wear it on the tighter setting and it’s just right, that little bit made the difference. Sometimes, it’s the small things.

oh and now I’m already looking at coin edge bezels, maybe a different handset… I’m caught in the modding thing!

happy to wear this every day

PS: it does not need the be a chronometer but would you look at that?

As someone with fairly small wrists, this was probably one of the factors keeping me from looking at the SRPD range. Might have to pull the trigger now.

Love the black and gold on that one!
