I Wrecked My NH35 Balance Wheel 💀
Was just doing the routine of regulating the NH35 inside my watch when my tweezer slipped & hit the balance wheel under the stud.. the movement just went kaput. Haven't got the sparepart nor the experience yet to fix it by myself 🤦🏻
So I went to the local watch repair guy & got the balance wheel replaced for $16.
Now it's alive & kicking again 🦾🍻
First experience ever getting my watch repaired 😅

What? When I did the same on a 7256 I had to get a whole new movement as it was cheaper than the full rebuild they insisted on, because they were a snooty warranty place. I prefer people that do what they need to like you have there.

Yeah about that.. we got various types of watch repair guys here. Some are the type you just described, they ask for total overhaul that cost ridiculous amount of money.
Then there are those who won't even try their limit of problem solving skill & dexterity, they just lazily tell you to change the part (or in your case, the whole movement).
Next there are those who are simply gold digger that charge exorbitant amount of fee aside from the part that needs replacing. I found one of them before finding the watch repair I finally used. They charged the same price $16 for the balance wheel BUT also additional $29 professional fee, so if you total it all you get pretty close with buying a new NH35 movement! 🤦🏻
And finally we have the guys who actually tried their best to fix/hack the problem as far as their dexterity can get them. And when they hit the wall then they suggest to change the part (instead of the whole movement), and the cost already INCLUDED the professional fee. Finding those kind of guys is really like finding a rare gem 💎 That guy got himself a loyal returning customer today 😄🍻
