Timex Expedition North x The James Brand

When I first heard about the Timex and The James Brand collaboration I knew I needed one. Timex on their own doesn't really fit into my collection, but The James Brand is an EDC brand from Portland, OR. And more importantly, it has my name on the dial (and the exhibition case back)! The fact that it was an automatic and titanium case were great bonuses. I got the black dial when it first released, but somehow missed the white version the following year and found it at MSRP on eBay. The Miyota 8000 series movement is a little noisy, and at 41mm is a tab larger than I prefer, but it has my name on the dial.

Likes:

James on the dial and on the exhibition case back

Titanium case

Durable

The James Brand logo on crown

Dislikes:

Entry-level Miyota movement

Movement is noisy

The grey strap originally with the white dial was too thick

Having your name on the dial 👌👏 and overall a nice looking watch but sorry that date window what were they thinking. Would have looked better as a no date version.

While it looks nice, I just can't justify paying the amount of money Timex is charging for their automatic watches. They are riding high on a lot of positive coverage by YouTubers and I'm sure more than a few free watches have been given out in order to facilitate that. To each their own, and if you like it that's all that matters. I'm just speaking for me personally.

I agree 100%. And if these said anything other than just "James" on the dial I wouldn't have bought them 😂.
