Buying Rant

Just a rant all. If you have watched any of the trending youtube watch dealers, then you will know a lot of the detail they ask about any watch they trade or buy, it's all about the details. Year, Box n papers, full links, service/polish and provenance. However, have you shopped on line at all, you will find in the watch description a lot of this detail is missing or presented in a manner that misleads the viewer as being something it is not. For example Hot watch and hard to find, buy now complete -  that is it. Or there is too much information to try and hide the fact the watch does not have the vital criteria you need to make an informed decision. For any watch over $3k there should be a industry standard, not a used car dealer mentality that I see is the norm. To be clear I tend to shop the dealer not the watch...but just a trend of used car dealers I see in the watch world. Again just a rant to clear my mainspring haha.

you can always reach out and ask. If they give you the information, no problem. I always reach out to sellers on c24 with messages/photos if not presented or obvious

Yes, this is always needed..but why is that…they should be listing this as a prerequisite…it is for them when buying.

Sellers' preference. Don't like how they list, don't buy from them.

I am always surprised how often people don’t include much information when selling something. doesn’t matter if it is a house, a car, or a watch, or whatever else you are looking to buy. I have seen house postings with like 3 poorly lit photos and no description beyond the square footage and that it ”has charm”. You are asking hundreds of thousands if dollars for the house, put in at least a little bit of effort

Exactly!! And not to mention the ppl who try pass on fake items with blurry pics and one liners. There has to be some self monitoring of these platforms.
