Influenced by many people - an uncle who had a Tag, friends from work who were into watches, my grandfather’s lost gold-plated Seiko.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I had a Flik Flak, Casios, and Swatches when I was a kid, a Kenneth Cole fashion watch, and a fake Tag from Chinatown when I was a poor kid in university, replaced by a real Tag Heuer Link Calibre 6 from 2007 to mark my 25th birthday.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Most of my watches now carry memories and stories with them, otherwise, they tend to be on the chopping block!
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Buy what you love, curate a collection, and make memories with your watches.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I’m all over the place. Currently on the hunt for a vintage Cartier or Rolex.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Patek 3940. If it’s good enough to be Philip Stern’s daily wear, it’s good enough for me (and since the 2499’s service cost, let alone the watch itself, is out of reach!)
