Automatic Chrono Maintenance Tips

I’m a couple months away from pulling the trigger on my first ever automatic chrono. I know these things are much more complex from a technical perspective than their three-handed brethren, so I’m asking you: What are some good care and maintenance tips for a mechanical chrono rookie like me?

Get one with Swiss movement for longevity or the 1963 swan  neck for around $200.00 (old Swiss design) When the 1963 quits just buy a new one for the cost of servicing the fatality. The swiss will need pricey service at least by 10 years.

Go for a tried and tested movement, use it wisely... and choose a brand that have great customer service! Im especially keen on Guinand, and can highly recommend them. Have fun with the chrono - its a very usefull and cool complication.
