I don’t think it will go up from retail much to be honest. You’re best to wait until it hits gray market dealers and buy one from there. It should hold its value but as an investment it won't perform very well
I sleep with mine on. I have a TAG Aquaracer so I just extend the diver extension and let it wear nice and loose. I forget it's even there to be honest but when im up I feel it sliding around and put it back to normal

It will outlast the quartz by A LOT if it's properly maintained. Automatic, or Manual. If its serviced regularly it should probably outlast its first few owners

a quartz watch will need a new battery every 5-10 years, a mechanicl watch is another story altogether
Yeah I get what you mean. They have a reputation for being insanely tough but that can't be the case all of the time when vintage pieces have to be considered. That’s a good point!
