Ming 37.07

Just picked it up from DHL on my way home. I will post some lume shots soon.

Nice, you got yours as well!

When it glows it does look quite cool but I found it unfortunately doesn't last very long (compared to dive watches or Seikos), at least on mine. Still, quite a cool watch in my opinion!

Yes the lume is nice but it’s short lived, the whole point of it was the lume so that is unfortunate. But I still like the watch, it looks nicer in the back than the front. I am not a big fan on the tuck in strap, it’s hard to remove and it catches all the hair going in. May be when it breaks in it will be better.

I wanted a Ming in my collection and this one is a great addition, but things I don’t dig so much are: the tuck in strap, short lugs (knew that was the design already), fingerprint on the crystal, short lived lume. I might replace the white Jean Russeau strap with an exotic (ostrich leg) dark brown at some point. I have come to find out that I do not like the quality of JR straps.

For what it's worth, with the leather strap, which is quite soft, the tuck away buckle works alright for me and I actually like how clean it looks especially given how thin the watch appears (I got both straps but they forgot to include my rubber strap so I don't know how it compares). Maybe the rubber really is just stiff initially. I believe the half hole adjustment is a bit silly. If used the end of the buckle will poke out a bit which I don't appreciate. The movement was the other positive surprise along with the perceived thickness.

The lume is indeed unfortunate but from memory the lume on the hands of the 17.09 was nothing to write home about either so maybe that's just how they are, i.e. not very bright. I think it would annoy me more on a 40 grand chronograph 😉 which seems to use the same hand set.

Yes the clean look is nice. But the rubber strap is a PITA to remove and nothing to write home about (garbage). The few hours on my wrist the watch is still growing on me, apart from the strap disaster and short lume, the watch is amazingly well done.
