This watch features possibly the first fully mechanical wristwatch with a gliding second hand, and an oscillator running at a crazy 40Hz.

@Max
Very interesting movement, from a guy who knows his stuff 👍
I assume you’re excluding Spring Drive, but Zenith was first with the Defy Lab.

Thanks for viewing and commenting! Spring Drive is of course excluded since it’s not a purely mechanical movement; the regulation is done via a quartz crystal and IC package powered by electricity. The Defy Lab runs at 15 Hz, it would be interesting to see in person whether that is sufficient to give the perception of a gliding second hand. Even Breguet has a 10 Hz watch with a sub second dial that apparently has a similar effect.
Of course, the other distinction the FC holds is that it’s a mass produced movement, not an absurdly priced proof of concept or limited edition.
How is the movement holding up years later? I'm curious if it has the longevity of a "normal" escapement.

I'm curious as well!
