Z-Blue Milgauss - The Uncommon Dial Colour Combination

Take a moment to ask yourself when was the last time you saw green, blue and orange on a dial aside from rainbow gem-set watches and Jacob & Co wrist flexes in gold. Chances are either your mind draws a blank, or only one watch comes to mind (Clue - this one). And it also comes from the watch company that arguably changes the least about its dials and execution.

Some call this Z-Blue Milgauss amongst the most un-Rolex of Rolexes. It is also a watch that has since become 'technologically irrelevant' given its original anti-magnetic properties have now been more efficiently addressed by non-ferrous components such as silicon by almost all major luxury watch brands.

There are also rumours this watch will disappear from the catalog soon.

What do you think?

Will this Milgauss Z-Blue be discontinued this year?

Or do you think Rolex should retain it in their catalog?

As someone who enjoys just a slight bit of quirkiness from time to time, I kind of hope the combination of electric blue dial, green sapphire and also orange lightning hand still stays in the collection, even if it is just a special OP with new updated movement.

PS: Unfortunately, this isn't mine - but I am immensely grateful that I have kind friends who are willing to entrust me with them for a few days in the knowledge that I'm beyond saving as a watch addict! 😂

This is the only Rolex that interests me, mainly for the unique design and historical connection. Not sure if I should join the notorious, undated waiting list or look for one on a second hand market.  Or maybe just keep admiring pictures like this.😀
