The watch is based on a WW1 design, that's a bit older than the 60's 😉

As long as the watch and strap seem at least moderately water resistant I leave it on. Never had a problem in 30+ years of doing it, and the doomsaying on this seems kind of hysterical to me....

Yes, it is and t's a very nice watch and was an extremely good value when I bought it. Their value proposition has become a lot worse since, and this one was supposed to be a limited edition - but now they're selling what looks to be an identical model as an unlimited one. That did not fill me with kind feelings about the company at all....
