Lusting for a Rolex 16600 Sea Dweller
I think the 16600 is peak Rolex coolness and I think it might be my next big purchase. The sub no date symmetry of the dial, with the added function of a date window. 40 mm case but a bit chunkier for more presence. Same time you get an alu bezel so the watch doesn’t make you look like a dodgy real estate broker. And in later models you get the brilliant 3135 movement and super luminous. What is not to like? Please share pictures of your 16600s if you got one 😄

I totally agree it is one a the best looking divers out there, together with the first generation Planet Ocean.
I sold mine ´cause it was very similar with my newest no date submariner, and as I need reading glasses the Sub was easier to read for me without glasses so I let the Sea-Dweller go to buy something else with the money.
The 16600 is just super cool and gorgeous, and as you said, the aluminum bezel inlay makes it not shiny but gives it a great vintage toolish feel..... I even wore it on a beige canvas strap for some time to bring out the vintage feel even more.

Love the look of the SD. I ultimately went with the Sub (no date) as it's just cleaner without the date window and a bit more wearable for me/ less heft. Also. Dodgy real estate broker 😂
I tried the 16600 on and loved the look of it,I had my 2005 sub on at the time so had a great chance to compare them ,size was identical apart from the thickness,the day was a lot harder to see without the Cyclops,I have the 40th anniversary model SD and I actually prefer the 16600
