Latest Boutique Window Shopping Haul part 2 (Montblanc, Piaget, Rolex)

Part 2:

Montblanc:

No news of this year's donation pen person yet, rumor is it will be pushed to next year. Last MB boutique, I found a salmon time only heritage piece. This time I found this gorgeous monopusher. Amazing looking piece for just about 5k. Biggest downside is no clear caseback, just an engraving of the Minerva factory. Price is so cheap cuz it's a modified 7750, not an actual Minerva chrono. If it was Minerva mvt, would probably cost near double. Beautiful dial regardless, and SA was pleasant to talk to

Piaget:

SA was great to work with as well even though her english wasn't perfect. Every time she said "polo" it sounded like "Apollo" minus the A lol.

Tried on my first Altiplano, 43mm was huge but that was the only Altiplano they had sans diamonds. Interestingly, Piaget only makes pieces in SS, RG, and WG, very rarely in YG, idk about platinum, didn't ask.

The RG "skeleton" was pretty interesting. Leaning slightly towards "Like" rather than "Indifferent." No small seconds though, but you can see the whole escapement. The movement was just flipped around.

The blue WG version is the same watch as the RG open work. I really like the blue one a lot more. There's a peripheral rotor on all these models, but on the blue one, theres a crescent-like paint/pattern to evoke water/waves imagery. The way the rotor swings on this piece just delivered so much better than on the standard black/WG and RG ones.

Lastly, a contender for highlight of the day: this LE flying tourbillon, 50 pieces in WG and 50 in RG I think, not completely sure. They had one in WG and RG and both are traveling novelties so I think this is the last stop before moving to Asia.

I know people like to hate on the Polo for "copying" patek but Piaget is IMO a high horology brand. SA kept saying altiplano was record holder for thinnest watch or mvt i dont remember but I'm p sure Bulgari owns every "thinnest" record. I love the coat of arms on the rotor and the finishing is superb.

Rolex:

SA I worked with was wonderful. Had a great talk about watches, the market, crazy customers with CCP money thinking they're entitled to everything, was great. Sadly the SA who I spoke with previously is no longer there, but Steve said she was also great. Feeling great about getting my dad that exp1 by EOY, he took some extra notes down when we were talking but I didn't feel like looking and staring at the paper.

Best thing about it is he's also a lefty who wears his watch on the right wrist WOOOOO. He was rocking a batman gmt today. He was saying how weird it is that 90% of the population is suddenly left handed now. He's not sure if this boutique will get exhibition models for all the new releases, maybe some and the LHD GMT might be 50 50. Didn't have a chance to ask about the certified pre-owned tho

#Montblanc salmon dial amazing in person.  Eying a time only three hand for the collection at some point soon.

even though that montblanc dial was exceptionally clean, I'd want a MB from the Minerva factory with an open caseback...so probably a PM chronograph movement worth tens of thousands lol

Actually the Minerva version of the Salmon Monopusher is open caseback :)

The Minerva version of the Montblanc is more like 4-5x the Selitta which you are wearing.
