I was thinking about buying my first luxury watch but didn't have a clue where to start. My dad and grandad had Omegas so I walked into the boutique and started trying on watches. Aqua Terra was too flashy, Seamaster was too big, and then I tried on the Speedy and it just clicked.
Lots of detail but wasn't overpowering. Proportions were perfect (even though it was a 42mm). The history of the watch as told by the advisor. I kept looking around for the next few months but the Speedy just felt right, so ended up buying it as my first luxury watch.
Buying subsequent watches has been a nightmare because around that price range of around £5,000 it's hard to get such a complete package.

Oh yeah it's super realistic for people to sell a few thousand £ worth of jewelery and move neighbourhoods, not like we have wives and kids and jobs. Oh also have you heard of this housing crisis that's going around?
