My dad has always had one or two watches, but never was actually interested in them. Me, on the other hand, have always been fascinated by them.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Digital LEMER watch. I must’ve been 10 or 11 years old.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Orient Tri-Star. Long story short: it was an anniversary gift from my mom to my dad. He wore it for a few years but never serviced it and it stopped working. I found it a while later, brought it back to life and he let me keep it.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t be afraid to be bold. That’s the only way to know what you like and you don’t. And don’t buy the first watch that crosses in front of you. Terrible mistake.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I’ve been looking a lot at Hamiltons and modded/custom Seiko builds.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
JLC Reverso Duoface Small Seconds. I’m a huge Christopher Nolan fan and I fell in love with the Reverso on the TDK trilogy, which is also how I discovered JLC as a brand. I know the Small Seconds is not the same one from the movie, but that’s the one I like.
