SOTC Two Years In

Here’s a short snapshot of my collection, two years into the hobby.

GADA watches

  1. Lorier Falcon: The first watch I bought that really wowed me. This was my most worn watch until I got the

  2. Tissot PRX P80 35mm: My most worn watch of 2023. It’s withstood my day-to-day adventures and it’s still going strong!

  3. Citizen Chronomaster AQ4020-54Y: My last purchase of 2023. It was my first time importing a watch from outside the US, and it wasn’t too terrible of an experience. I’ve only had it for about a week, but I foresee myself wearing this watch for a very long time.

My dedicated dress watch

  1. Cartier Tank Solarbeat small

Sentimental

  1. Tissot Gentleman: a birthday gift from my girlfriend-turned-fiancée. This is a forever-piece.

Novelties

  1. Citizen AP1053-15W: a triple calendar moonphase with pointer date and a moon gazing Mickey Mouse

  2. Seiko SSC911 Speedtimer: This watch made me realize I’m not a chronograph guy. I prefer something thin, understated, and with a bit of polish.

These are all great choices. All together they add up to a great collection.

Love the Chronomasters! Is yours the washi dial? Looks like it, but it's hard to tell in this picture.

Yes! It uses a washi paper dial. On a sunny day the dial looks like glistening snow ❄️

I've never seen one in person but I've spent a lot of time looking at pictures of this watch. I'd love to check one out someday. Nice collection you have there. Side note, you may find you would like some of the vintage and neovintage chronographs. They can be a bit more compact and elegant than a lot of todays offerings. Check out the Breitling Top Hats for example. They came in 36mm and then later a 38mm. Very beautiful watches.
