Daring Designs

I am mostly rather conservative in my watch choices, i.e. dress watches, tool watches, nicely readable, most of them fairly elegant (if you excuse my beaters).

But this is getting a bit boring after a while, and I thought I buy myself a cheerful cheapo from Ali that stands out in the crowd. My shortlist:

  • the Forsining aaf8210 (first pic). Just an odd shape, seems rather unique.
  • the Binkada DH-01, my bling option:

Ali gives you blingier options, but this is my limit.

  • the winner 526, also rather blingy, and with an oddly shaped dial.

Some main brands have this dial shape, but new to my collection.

  • the Lige 8925

The only quartz in the list, and perhaps the most practical. Kind of cool in a retro sort of way, not as naff as Lige's main offerings.

So, what would your pick be? BTW none of these break the bank, all up to £30.

The automatics usually fail not long after you get them unless you take the movements out and oil them. They are cheap but well designed and just slapped together. The shining light of those is that they are great oiled up with new straps. The original is fake alligator and goes bad fast if it doesn't crack first. the fancy one in the middle actually has one of the cheapest movements they make. The triangle one is a homage to the one Elvis wore.

The bottom one also is available with a cigarette lighter.

What a line up! Definitely more exciting than the average watch you see on here.

I think I'd go with the Invicta 💪 it has Elvis opulence and bling with a bit of vintage thrown in.

I'd have to opt for the bottom one that looks like an old portable radio, just out of process of elimination.

Pulled the trigger on the Forsining. In the flesh it looks like this:
