Getting hitched.

I'm getting married this year and if that isn't enough, my wife wants to gift me a watch.

How lucky am I?!

Anyway,

I need your help Crunchers

As this watch will be a gift, I intend to keep it for the rest of my life. Therefore it needs to be a solid watch that can accompany wherever I go. A gada watch if you will.

I'm not a dress watch kinda guy, though it does have to go with my suit...

I heard you guys like impossible challenges 😅

Preferred specs

  • Budget around 1k

  • 38mm is my sweetspot.

(Size may range between 36 - 40)

  • Minimum of 10 atm/ 100 meter wr

  • Movement that is servicable.

(Now and in the future)

  • Classy but cool

The future wife has a French background, Baltic and Yema seem to be the go to French brands given the budget.

Dropping the necessity of it being a French company, the Murph 38 mm is high on my list as it was one of the first films we watched togheter.

But I love to hear you options.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on any other options that would be out there 😁 and thanks!

I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions...but get what you want

Nomos Club or Club Campus. Gadawatch and goes good with a suit as well. Beautiful movement.

What about a Seiko Alpinist?

Easy!! Serica 6190

Definition of GADA, COSC certified, 37.7mm diameter, 200m WR, French, serviceable mvt (ETA-2892 copy), tough enough to go to the peak of a 6190m tall mountain (that's where the name comes from https://www.serica-watches.com/en/our-story/) yet elegant enough to wear to your wedding, as i did on mine (with the previous iteration 4512)
