💥💫 Does this Rado Golden Horse look like a sports or dress watch or just versatile? 🤯

I'm trying to find a versatile all rounder with a popping dial that can pull off both work and play. Tried this Rado Golden Horse on in the Singapore airport.

Big question:

❓Does it look like a dress watch or sports watch to you guys?

Google has varying answers to this. When I tried it on I thought it was an old fashioned tinier throwback sports watch like they used to make back in the 60s and 70s, but I think the salesperson quietly and reluctantly nodded her head so I couldn't tell which it was. Most sites say dress but some say sports. So I'm leaning towards a dress watch but more versatile than the Omega Constellation. What do you guys think about that?

It's unisex, 37mm, automatic, 80 hour power reserve. They dont have a bigger model or men's model. But it's 1800$ compared to the $6600 Omega aqua terra and $5000 used GS I'm looking at. I'd say this Rado is competing with the Omega Constellation but the constellation is a dress watch no doubt.

Anyways this red horse it's unique but also not too flashy that I'll get robbed in SE Asia.

What's everyone's thoughts on how it looks? Versatile? Is it sports or dress? Does it cover both work and play?

Not dress

It's a dress sports watch😂

I guess definitions are fluid - but in my book this is 0% dress watch. Which doesn’t mean you couldn’t or shouldn’t wear it to work ofc, but very much a sports watch imho (albeit a classy one :)

I would say its more dress than sports given the this mid case, overall 37mm and only 50mt WR. I have a Golden Horse with black dial so that does have a more dressier feel. Kept it on BoR for ages and didn't wear it much but recently put it on a vintage style leather strap and that changed the whole feel! Much more versatile now IMO

It’s a vintage style sports watch. But because it is smaller and dressier than contemporary standards, I think it could be worn in most situations short of serious water activities. (If I remember correctly, it is rated for 50m, so it’s definitely not a dive watch.)

While can work on both scenarios, I put it on the sports watch bucket!

I'm torn between the red and green. The green somehow pops more because of the color contrast the green provided to the red anchor at the top. The red dial and yellow anchor kinda makes me feel like it's the Chinese or USSR flag anchors 🤣 especially since it's so retro. Like a cold war USSR watch is the red one 🥴😆. Though red and orange are my favorite colors and not green.

I have a Golden Horse and use it as a dress watch mostly. I like versatile watches, so it can be used in many situations. I prefer the look of a vintage sports watch used as a dress watch though. Even in this shot below, its being used on a casual flannel and it slips under the cuff and elevates my look.

I think different people would classify it as one or the other. Personally I think it's just a great watch to wear wherever you feel appropriate. I think it can fit in most daily situations just great . 😎
