Andrew Morgan leaves Watchfinder….

Fresh today (Saturday), Andrew Morgan goes solo leaving Watchfinder after 13 years.

Firstly, I’d like to wish him every success in growing his own AMW YouTube channel & look forward to seeing where he takes it. Secondly, I’d really like to thank him for the many excellent Watchfinder reviews he did under the “Talking Hands” guise. It was through avidly watching his reviews that my own interest in watches grew hugely. He is certainly responsible for the broadening of my knowledge of, & subsequent ownership of different brands I’d previously never considered.

When Andrew launched his own channel I suspected that at any time in the near future there would be a parting of the two. Given the huge change in the type of content from Andrew & Tom in the last 18 months, I feel this parting has come at the right time.

Watchfinder will struggle to replace Andrew & I would suggest they’ll feel the loss more than him. That’s just a personal opinion, time will tell whether they can find a new formula that works for them.

If Andrew happens to be looking in, my advice would be that you try to focus on quality rather than quantity, that’s what made the Watchfinder reviews so popular & educational. Speak when you have something to say, not because you have to say something.👍

He's a very talented and humble guy. To his continued success

Interesting. I thought he was the Watchfinder brand. I imagine he will take all his fans with him and his own channel will quickly have more subscribers and views than the old one.

·

Just viewed his video. He just worked for them for 13 years. He became the face for Watchfinder. I'm so happy for him and his moving into a better lane.

Watchfinder has gotten too... well a lot of watch enthusiasts are becoming more disenchanted with their views.

·

Thank you so much, I really do appreciate the support, and here's hoping I can continue to bring a little dose of joy to people's days!

·

Ah a shame.

Personally I preferred the older style of Watchfinder videos, when we all thought he was that chap off the TV ...

Do enjoy his new channel, just hope Tom doesn't disappear really do like him .

Best wishes to all 🎉👏🏻

You’re very welcome & for what it’s worth I’m certain you’ve made the right decision. I’m sure your channel will receive the support & encouragement needed from the many enthusiasts in the watch community.

At this scary time that's exactly what I needed to hear... let's hope I can stick the landing!

Yes, I have a feeling of sadness for Tom at this time. I love his cynicism & dry sense of humour when commenting on the higher end watches. 😢😜

You're practically Watch-fam Royalty Andrew, we're all behind you.

Just do what you do "build it & they will come" 😉👍😉

The scary phase will pass quickly. Being out of your comfort zone is a huge driver of success, it gets the best out of people. If I had only realised this in my 30s, instead of my 50s, I’d be wearing an A Lange & Sohne now instead of an Omega 😜

Thank you! I hope what I build doesn't collapse and crush everyone in the front row... 😬

Hey, don't knock Omega! I don't know if you know, but they went to the moon!

It’s informed opinion & facts on that kind of sh1t that kept me coming back to the channel 😜

Andrew, you are a treasure trove of horology info and your narration is just a pleasure to listen to. You're like the radio dj and talk show host for us watch enthusiasts. Love what you do.

Thank you and I know myself and countless others will look forward to your new path. My 👒 off to you.

Best

@AndrewMorgan, to add to the (well deserved) adulation coming your way... I found your videos during the pandemic as I (like many) began to really go down the rabbit hole... Seeing my casual appreciation of watches deepen into something more... Obsessive? All consuming? Enjoyable? 😁 It was your superbly produced and informed content that really helped me appreciate a whole world of horology that I'm unlikely to experience first hand (and some I now do). But the stories, insight, details, and humor you shared with us were a light in those times. I dove into your back catalog to find gems (of watch making and content) and want to share my admiration, my appreciation, and my thanks! I subscribed to your personal channel just as you began it, and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next. Cheers mate! 🍻

I really appreciate that, thank you so much 😊 It was really nice for me to be making stuff during Covid that had a connection with people and gave them something to look forward to. It's something I still can't quite comprehend, but still something I'm enormously proud of. The real fear is always living up to your own bar and pushing it further without becoming irrelevant!

Watchfinder’s loss indeed. Andrew is on my subscriptions and I do not miss any of his videos. Will be happy to support him on Patreon. After all, I learned a lot from his videos. I wish Andrew all the best and I’ll remain a regular viewer and listener

Thank you so much, that's very generous.

Good luck on your journey Andrew! Your reviews are one of the few watch reviews that I watch on full screen with the resolution cranked up to 4k

Thank you!

Driving to work most mornings listening to your YouTube videos has often been the highlight of the day!

Thank you very much! I hope I continue to entertain!

From where I sit (an ocean away in Brooklyn NY), as long as you keep letting your passion, intelligence, knowledge and humor shine through - we'll keep watching!

I hold him up as the only high-quality watch YouTuber who is willing to mock the absurdity of luxury watch marketing and actually criticize their watches—all with obvious knowledge, passion, and humor. He’s the antithesis of the hacks and retail fronts that do nothing but read specs and regurgitate press releases while blandly describing the watch on screen as if to a blind person (“this watch has a blue sunburst dial with a date window at the 3 o’clock position….” yeah, Teddy, I can see that…). I’m pulling for his success as an independent and will support him as much as I can to prevent him from falling prey to the lure of big-brand sponsorships, exotic press junkets, and quid-pro-quo access that has rendered so many once-great YouTube watch channels irrelevant.

What ever you're taking about, keep going as it's good to get some good ol' British chat on watches with a sense of humour 👌🏾

Maybe there just happens to be a semi-regularly occurring banterful “collaboration” 🤔

I had no idea he had a video game commentary channel
