After around 50 hours of work I can finally say that the reference guide to the Omega Speedmaster Reduced is done.

You can read it here:

Would be happy if you write me if you find anything I should add or modify. For all the Speedy enthusiasts out there, enjoy!

Congrats on this absolutely beautiful Speedmaster. There’s something about the weight of gold that just spoils other watches 🤓 Does the clasp also have the new fine adjustment or did Omega spare the gold bracelets?

I like this shade of gold because it can actually look like normal steel and doesn’t “scream” that it’s gold. The price tag is another topic, but we all have different resources. Enjoy!

How do you like the date adjustment? Got your little pin with you? 😉 Really like that Speedy.

There’s a song by Imagine Dragons which would fit here

Not a cheap solution but Speedmasters recently started shipping with a micro adjustment clasp. This means you can adjust the length by pushing a small button within the clasp. No tools needed. You can order the bracelet as a spare part over the boutiques. I’d get that and all your problems are solved. You can try to sell the old one and make the purchase a bit cheaper that way.

If you need a date: Omega. But I’d choose the Tudor, even though I’m a Omega fanboy. Also the bracelet is nicer on the Tudor. Here’s a picture from a Tudor event last year. It wears similar to a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39mm in terms of size. If I wouldn’t have that watch already with a black dial, I would’ve gotten the Tudor. But those two are just too similar visually.

Good choice, what a classy watch. Also in the 36 mm size, just like the Datejust should be. My guess is that we’ll see more gold and steel combinations in the future, I have the feeling with the whole 80s and 90s fashion trends going strong currently these are going to get en vogue again. And rightfully so!
