A Rare Glycine Airman 18 and a Conundrum

I purchased an older Glycine Airman 18 recently and it was hard to find. The reason I was looking for this particular one is that the 18 only works with a bracelet if it has drilled lugs and it has been quite awhile since the Airman 18 came with drilled lugs. Also, I prefer the smaller crowns of the older model.

When I received the watch, however, the hands were misaligned so in the process of getting this fixed, my watchmaker found slight rust in the case and also pointed out that with the link that holds the end link in place broken, the bracelet would not be safe to wear, even if repaired. The sellers description and pictures on eBay didn't indicate either of these issues. What would you do? Return it? Ask for a discount? I know it's a long shot but does anyone happen to have an Airman 18 bracelet they want to sell?

I'd return it & continue the hunt

Yeah, that's probably a good call.

Definitely ask for a discount if this wasn’t presented upon the sale of the time piece.

Then you can put that money towards making the repairs you need.

Thank you for sharing this post. Good luck. 🍀
