What is your "gateway drug" watch?

One of my favorite to ask the #watchfam is; what what was your "gateway drug" watch?

A watch that sucked you in and make you jump down the never ending rabbit hole of watch collecting.

I'll start! mine is the is/was the Seiko SNK809...damn did it keep bad time, but a Seiko with display case back and an automatic movement for <$100 is hard to beat!

Mine was the Audemars Piguet Millenary 15016 from 2004. Simple, Elegant, under the radar before AP was made famous by instagram, highly legible time piece with a smacker of a movement by JLC.

A sort of a graduation gift, it piqued my interested and really got me into watches.

Wow! That is an amazing "gateway drug" watch, full of beauty and heritage!

Mine was the blue Martenero Kerrison, a microbrand auto bought on Kickstarter before I knew what a Miyota 9015 was. It served me well for a couple of years, but it was probably my first Seiko 5 (SRPB91) that really opened the floodgates.

Love the look of those old seiko 5 divers!

Mines been mostly field watches of all kinds. I wear a Timex Expedition a lot while I’m home and I have a few others.
