Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Watching YouTube videos during the pandemic I stumbled across The Urban Gentry channel and the rest is history.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A fossil watch in high school. My first “real watch” that I picked out for myself and the one that got me hooked many years later is my Laco Venedig Erbstuck.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My two-tone Cartier Tank Francaise was a ten year anniversary gift from my wife. It was the middle of the pandemic in 2020 so we couldn’t go on a nice vacation or throw a big party. We decided to use the money instead to get each other really nice gifts.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Try the watch on before you buy or make judgment.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Longines, Grand Seiko, Tudor, Omega and Rolex
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
A Lange & Sohne Lange 1. The big date, the dial layout, the finished movement.
