VC Overseas or AP Royal Oak Offshore

Alright guys, considering either one for a Holy Trinity acquisition. What are your thoughts on each? I like the newer VC Overseas but they did sell out to the richemont group and were originally a late comer to the luxury sports watch group. Long term outlook of the brand vs Patek or AP?

The royal oak released in 1972, the nautilus in 1976, and the overseas in 1977. So technically VC was not a late comer. Personally, on quality alone I believe you can't go wrong with either of them. But for me, a person who chooses VC wants to be different from the "hype crowd", since you don't see it often. From a long term perspective, don't get a timepiece because it is an "investment", get the watch you like. Cheers 😀

And these are available to you from their ADs? Wow you must have good connections!

Since you ask about long-term outlook, best advice I've heard:

Buy something you never intend to sell and it never depreciates.

I wish, going to have to get a used AP or pay grey market for a VC. I called VC and they don’t even take preorders anymore.

I’m considering a Royal Oak in the future and would drive a few hours each way to the boutique. Wait lists are a pain but better than 200% markup.

Just to add to the time line. RO 1972, Laureato 1975 (GP), Nautilus 1976, the VC Overseas as a model series launched in 1996 with the inspiration coming from the VC 222!

But i do agree the VC does standout from the Hype Crowd!

If you can get the 4500V, that's better than any offshore imo. A good equal from AP would be the 15500st or something.
