Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
My watch journey started the same way as countless others. I watched James Bond how he lit up his cigarette while looking at time on his Rolex. That was one of the coolest things I saw and I immediately decided I have to own a watch.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
It was a small Timex on canvas strap with indiglo light. I wasn't into ref. numbers or special names back then, so I cant really tell you which one was it.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I have. My Seiko 5ks with Pepsi bezel. I bought in the middle of the pandemic. My life wasn't moving forward. I worked all long days in hospital and at testing points. My bachelor degree wasn't any good and was far from being finished. I experienced a bad heart break. My life was static with every day being the same. Then I saw Seiko in my local dealer. It was instant love. With that purchase everything changed for the better. My confidence was up drastically and life was fun again.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
You think you like something? Wait for at least 30 days. If you still like it, you buy it! If not it was hunger for a new watch.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Certina, VC and Omega. Sometimes Rolex sneaks in, but goes away fast.
