I’m really - I mean really - digging the update to the Hamilton Khaki Aviation. The addition of a smaller case size, a few dial color (and case finishing) options, and a decent MSRP makes this a strong contender for the next watch to find its way on my front stoop. I prefer the overall styling of this version over the “interstellar”. The triangle at 12 o’clock is now oriented like a traditional fleiger, no day complication at the top of the dial - not even a date complication on the 36mm offering, and numerals without a track around the center of the dial all come together to make this watch feel like a more refined version of itself. What say you, crunchers?

I like it as well. It's got a lot going for it. In fact, it just displaced the Nivada Grenchen 35mm on my next to purchase list.

  1. They got the sizing right (for me) with a 36mm offering

  2. There are a lot little details that will keep it interesting to look at for a while; the chamfered centre links, the thin bit of polish on the bottom of the bezel, the way the 3, 6, 9 markers sink into the dial and are also chamfered, the protected crown that doesn't look bulbous for once as most pilot watches do, etc.

  3. No Khaki on the dial

  4. No date

At that size I'd say it's more field than flieger, but I like it a lot. Love that it's no date, so much cleaner without that superfluous complication. Very nice indeed 😍👍

I dig it. The cutout in the hour hand to show the hour printing on the dial is so cool!

Yea. I love that detail as well. I’m gonna let my emotional reaction to it disapate and revisit my feelings on adding this one to the collection.

Agreed on every single point. Hamilton got this one right.

Agreed. Once the dial drops below 38mm, it usually looks better without a date window. There are exceptions of course, but generally speaking.

Love that hand set. I think more people will like the smaller size. I've always been a fan of the type B dial. I personally like my fliegers to be a bit bigger tho.
