Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Saw a beat-up GMT master on the wrist of a Vietnam veteran in infantry school (circa 1999). Ever since then I lusted after the quintessential steel tool watch (which ended with me buying my first Rolex Explorer MANY years later)

Never stretch yourself financially for a watch. Also if you’re afraid of wearing it because of scratches or dings…don’t buy it.
