I can't really say I'm a collector as I have 3 watches, all of quite meager price-points. I don't feel the need to spend huge amounts on watches (though, many of the watches I admire are quite pricey to me) & love the simple 3 that I own.
That being said, I absolutely love watches. Value & scarcity are never part of my interest, it's the looks & function that are the draw..
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I know I had some random little win-up watch when I was a kid, & then when I got older & Casio came out with their digital watches, I moved on to a couple of those. (Wish I knew where they were today)
The first watch I actually purchased was the Citizen Endeavor CA0440-51E, Black Dial, Stainless Steel Bracelet. Got it for under $200 new which was a bonus. The Eco part was really intriguing, & I dug the design, though now, though I still love the watch, the face is too busy for me with the design on the dial. If I could have that as a solid color now, that would be optimal. I do love the solidity, size, & absolute rock-solid timekeeping & hands-off nature of it. It just runs WELL.
