Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I always loved watches for aesthetic and fashion. I became serious about watch collecting when I started thinking about the idea of heirlooms and wanted something to pass on to my son. I started watching watch youtubers and was hooked.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I owned was some timex digital watch. I don’t recall the model. The first watch I owned when I started getting serious in watch collecting was an Orient Kamasu.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Not so much an interesting story but most sentimental is my Omega Speedmaster Automatic Date 3311.20 I bought to celebrate buying my first house.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Try different styles of watches. Don’t buy dive watches just because many people recommend them. You might like dress watches more or pilot watches. When you are starting out you are still trying to figure out what you like.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Bvlgari, Piaget, Nivada Grenchen and defunct brands from the 70’s-90’s.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Gold Cartier Santos. I love the design of the Cartier Santos and I love precious metal watches. The gold and two tone models really represent the juxtoposition of industrial design and elegance. Even though its full gold its not super loud or flashy like a bust down royal oak or gold Rolex Daytona
