I had a colleague tell me that if I left my watch on a table in the office, he'll know that it's mine because he could only imagine me wearing it. That sparked a thought - is there a common thread that connects across different watches in a collection that can represent an individual?

They represent an eclectic mix, but they each have features that stand out from other watches, be it the colour or the dial design. I am partial to watches with more character, which probably also speaks to how I think about watches in general - that they are more like a form of jewellery for men since we don't usually accessorise as much, that they represent engineering intricacies and attention to detail which I like in my work, and that they are great conversational starters with folks in general.

Also that my children will drown any watch that isn't water resistant which is why I want a Nomos as my dress watch.

I don't want to become a clichéd FHM listicle (eg what does your watch say about you), but based on these watches I'd say your approach is quite similar to mine, you like variety and can get bored easily, so you have statement watches you can wear on different occasions kinda like a piece of jewellery to accentuate your outfit for the day.
And you have good taste, loving the dark green strap on orange dial, great combo!
I have 3 watches that define me I guess. My casio wise and orient
Casio is just great. Light comfortable and versatile. Wear it everywhere and anywhere. Is my most worn watch by far
Orient was my first. Incredible watch and still infatuated by that dial. Perfect dressy piece
And last but not least, my Wise. Just a gorgeous watch that is honestly perfect for me in pretty much every way
They are all gorgeous! The Wise is really pretty, I only learnt about the brand on WC and they seem to be doing some cool stuff.
