Great watch! I hope you are enjoying it! A few months ago I got my SARX055 JDM (basically the same watch but with a titanium case and bracelet).
Both timepieces are out of the ordinary. The famous frosty dial is even more impressive in person, I hope you got the same impression.
These watches have an overall elegant and discreet presence. I think that they can be used on a variety of occasions. It is masculine without "trying too hard" like some tools watches. Unquestionably, one of the best watches in my collection.
In my case, the titanium case and bracelet offer noticeable lightness and comfort, that's why I choose the 055 instead of the 033. The material has a distinct texture and plays with the light in a different way than stell. Amazing for daily use. @sfmorris Why did you choose the 033 instead?
It is interesting that SEIKO sells the "sharp edges" series in the rest of the world under the same "category". An objectively inferior watch in terms of finishing and materials but charges the same price.
nice, was wondering the differences from sarb035/033
I've not handled the SARB models myself, but from what I've read and seen, the finishing on the SARX models is considered to be a noticeable step up. And bearing in mind the inflated prices being demanded for SARBs these days, these are definitely worth a look if you can find one.

yes, you are right, the sarb has some drawbacks like lume, bracelet and ar coating, sarx made it better.

Hi @thiago. I agree with a lot of your thoughts here. I know many consider these dress watches, but I think they do lend themselves to daily smart-casual wear. That's certainly how I'll be using mine.
The dial's different on the 033 compared to the 055. It's a plain white dial with a light sunburst effect, related more closely to the 035 black variant. Personally I thought that made it a little more understated than the 055, with the hands adding the pop when they catch the light. I also wear a lot of blue, so the hands really work for me!
I'm also not totally on-board with the "Presage" dial text. I don't mind a bit more text on a diver, but these dials benefit from a more minimalist approach.
Finally, I'm not totally sold on titanium... yet. I'm sure that time will come, though. It's just a matter of discovering and handling the watch that sways me.
All nit-picky things explaining why I chose one over the other though. Undoubtedly the 055 is a cracker and a piece you seem rightfully proud to own.

My favourite Seikos are generally the JDM models from the recent bygone era. This one included, love the handset!
nice! I owned this exact model, and from what I remember, the case finishing and quality of the dial was up there with the best of them

Everyone loves a Seiko dial, but they look so much better without all the extra clutter of collection names and logos, don't you think?

Yes, I think this could be a keeper. Until I can afford a GS, at least!

Definitely. The font used for “automatic” is much better than the newer Presage branding imo

100%, simple and sleek with just "Automatic" at the bottom.
Beautiful watch!

for the price point, the sarb is unbeatable.
