I think it's a family thing. My great grandfather was a watchmaker and I am also from Biel/Bienne, one of the big "Watch-Towns" (from Rolex, Swatch to Omega).

My great grandfather was a watchmaker at Buren Watch Company and I have his watch from 1961 that he received as a service gift for his 25 years of service and it still runs today. It is a Super Slender Automatic with a Micro Rotor.

Start small and learn what you like!
