Long watch boxes are perfect for holding straps

You could say that I've been getting into Eastern philosophy. Yes, I recently deployed the complete Marie Kondo decluttering method which, among other things, explicitly specifies that the jewelry boxes lying around your house should be reused as drawer organizers due to their high quality and small size. In the end, her advice inspired me to give away only two watches, both of which were purchased years before I became a collector, but I enthusiastically followed through with the jewelry box thing. Let's be real, my entire collection is in the budget range, and I have no intention of ever flipping anything. (I did equivocate about my most expensive watch box, whose thick glass lid makes it useless for drawer organizing, and am still holding onto it for no real reason.)

Apparently, you shouldn't buy any organizing devices while decluttering, because the things already present in your house will be perfectly sufficient to hold all the things you wish to keep. Sounds like bullshit, and I was eager to prove it wrong with my many weird, unmanageable collections. But The KonMari Method (tm) claimed another victim as I immediately realized the elegant simplicity of keeping all my favourite straps in one of these long Seiko boxes. Damn it!!!

I got small Shimo plastic boxes that are perfect size for straps. About 10”x3”x2”. I can then stack them and each box can have different lug to lug sizes, bracelets or leather. Easy to organize. You can find online.

Note: this is not my original idea. I saw it recently on a post. Don’t recall who it was, but credit due.
