Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Have always been interested in watches. Even as a kid.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A Lorus Mickey Mouse watch I think. After that it was a Casio Calculator watch. It was one of the early DataBanks.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I bought my 1675 in 1991 second hand. It was on my wrist for the next 25 years or so. It was with me through a couple of tours in war zones and on many adventures in the mountains. One that will never leave my collection.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take your time. Find out what you like. Try to avoid the hype. Zig when everyone else zags.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Christopher Ward, Serica, Tudor.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
5517 MilSub. I remember when these could be had for less than $1000. Dealers were actually buying them and converting them to standard Subs because a second hand Sub fetched more than a MilSub. The good old days!
