My First Swiss Watch!
Swatch New Gent - Twice Again!
This was the first Swiss watch that I bought, about 7 years ago. At that time this was the closest I could get to a Swiss in terms of price.
Till date, this watch has worked beautifully. Have always admired this for the simplicity and great wearability. Also, the lume on this is surprisingly good!
Plus the maintenance on this is quite easy. I just remove the straps and wash them in detergent water. For the acrylic crystal, toothpaste polishing works amazingly well. (Yet to try polywatch. Would love to understand if it really works from the experts out here)
The original strap is still intact though is has started showing age. The plastic buckle broke long back and I replaced that with a metal one.
One of the biggest gripes with this watch is the design of the lugs which makes changing straps impossible. A classic design like this would actually go well with a lot of straps.
Here in India, there aren't too many options to get straps for this watch and not even other options like lug adaptors are available.
I'm moving to the UK sometime next month. Hopefully I can get to change my strap there :)
