When I'm wanting to tone down the bling factor I occasionally wear my Day Date on a black strap rather than its usual President bracelet.
One time I wore it that way to a watch gathering and one of my favorite watch buddies looked at my wrist and said "Man, that's just wrong!".
I guess some people feel like it's a pancake without syrup when a Day Date isn't on a bracelet.
