Bay Area guy living in Boston, half Spanish half Taiwanese. Just got into watches in 2022 after I realized I never charge my apple watch. I vowed to never wear it again.
Chatting with an old friend about our watches when we were kids led me to Teddy Baldassare who is probably to blame for a lot of newbies
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Seiko 5 SRPD51
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Take your time. My taste has change so many times and by not jumping in has allowed me to hone in to watches I actually want. Try not to let people influence your tastes
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Longines. At first I saw it as kind of an average looking watch, but as my tastes are changing Im getting more into the conquest and it looks like a great dress watch with a bit more presence with the 12 and 6 bold fonts.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Rolex Milgauss. The color and dimensions just say something that I cant describe. Its very un rolex like too but so beautiful. The green makes it different and to me it stands out. I really want an Omega Seamaster (any variation) or a Tudor Black Bay 58 but these I can buy used at a semi attainable price. The Rolex Milgauss is def out of reach...hence the grail.
